info
Effectius collects best practices which are proven solutions to identified problems. They may be developed by governments, NGOs or individuals, and range from changes in international and national legislation to individual actions.
When a best practice is identified in one country or region it can then be shared with institutions, organisations or individuals in countries facing corresponding challenges.
Since Effectius launched in 2009, the information platform has rapidly expanded, and now has a truly global reach and includes over 350 solutions to improve the effectiveness of justice. Both the core team and our network of members contribute solutions to the information platform. Each item is formatted and reviewed to ensure that it is up to standard, promoting effective justice solutions with the maximum impact.
If you would like to contribute to our database, you can download our English and/or Spanish template. If you are interested in gaining access to our information platform please contact us for membership opportunities.
Effectius identifies individuals and organisations at the local, national and international level who are experienced in, or interested in making a difference in justice effectiveness. Tell us if you wish to tap into justice effectiveness expertise worldwide.
Effectius classifies the solutions into four main categories (serving as indicators of effectiveness):
- Administrative burden
- Cost-effectiveness
- Fairness
- Speed of justice
The Effectius database covers a wide range of topics. The highest number of solutions are found in the fields of e-justice, crime prevention, environmental justice, access ot justice, alternative dispute resolution and anti-corruption.
Most of the solutions in the database have been implemented on a national scale,
while about one third is either more local, sub-national, or larger, transnational, in scope.
Effectius aims to bring these practices, innovations and solutions beyond national borders and
can assist their implementation in different contexts.
