After the film, a panel of four communications and advocacy experts gave their impressions of the film and explained their experiences in turning information into action.
Panelists:
Xaviera Albrand has been managing communications campaigns on social development related topics for the past three years in post-conflict, cross-cultural environments(Afghanistan, Pakistan). She supported external information flows, raised awareness on key issues (e.g., human rights, counternarcotics, health access, etc), coordinated dissemination, and provided technical assistance to programmes and administration on the production of public information materials.
Audrey Gueudet is communication officer at EuropeAid, the European Commission's Co-operation Office. She is a core editorial team member for the www.capacity4dev.eu platform and is producing communication material on the EC's reform of Technical Cooperation. Before joining EuropeAid, Audrey worked for many years as a communication expert successively for a Brussels-based communication consultancy and for the European Anti Poverty Network, an NGO involved in the fight against poverty and social exclusion in the European Union.
Manuel Pueyo has worked for the region of Galicia in Brussels as a consultant in European Funding for Research, Innovation and Culture and in two EU oriented communication agencies. Currently, he cooperates with Ultimate Circle (www.ultimatecircle.eu) providing operational support to non-profit organizations and European institutions through centralization of resources, project management and communication strategy. Manuel is constantly implementing new international projects based on surprise communication and social innovation.
Ann Vaessen has worked as a journalist and public information officer for over eight years. She has worked for two leading Brussels-based communication agencies and has lived in Bosnia and Herzegovina for three years, as an in-house journalist and public information officer for the EU Police Mission. She will soon join Directorate-General Enlargement's Communication Unit at the European Commission.
